Becoming Better LLC is a New Jersey–based case management agency dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing homelessness, housing instability, or displacement. We provide housing stabilization, resource navigation, and comprehensive supportive services designed to promote long-term stability and well-being. Our work is guided by a person-centered approach, ensuring that every individual is treated with respect, dignity, and understanding. Founder
Rakema B. Bey
Rakema Bey is the Founder and Director of Becoming Better LLC, is a dedicated advocate for affordable housing and community empowerment. Proudly grounded in her roots, she discovered early on that her purpose was to serve others with compassion and intention.

Her journey began in the nonprofit sector, where she developed a passion for helping underserved communities. With over a decade of experience across multiple areas of housing, Rakema has become a trusted resource, known for providing guidance, valuable information, and access to critical resources.

Through her work, she has built strong relationships with state, county, and local officials while actively advocating for the growing need for affordable housing and sustainable community development.

Driven by purpose and inspired by her family, Rakema remains committed to creating lasting impact—helping individuals, strengthening communities, and opening doors to better opportunities.

Sakeenah Blakely
Sakeenah is the Founder and Director of Becoming Better LLC, where she is dedicated to expanding access to affordable, supportive housing and essential social services for individuals and families in need.

With over 20 years of experience in the social services field, she has worked with diverse populations, including at-risk youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those facing mental health challenges.
​
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University, Sakeenah combines her expertise in case management with over 15 years of leadership experience to create impactful, person-centered programs.

Her work focuses on helping individuals secure stable housing while connecting them to the resources needed for long-term success.
